Die ehemalige Bischofsstadt war eines der fr\u00fchen christlichen Zentren der Insel. Auf dem \u00fcber 100 m hohen Kalksteinfelsen herrschten einstmals die Hochk\u00f6nige von Munster. Nach der Bekehrung des Hochk\u00f6nigs Aenghus durch den heiligen Patrick \u00fcbergaben Sie den Rock of Cashel der Kirche, die hier einige der bekanntesten sakralen Bauten Irlands errichten lies. Am Nachmittag empfehlen wir einen Besuch in Cork, der europ\u00e4ischen Kulturhauptstadt 2005. Schon zu viktorianischen Zeiten war diese Strecke ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel, das bis heute nichts von seinem Reiz verloren hat. Eine fast mediterran anmutende Landschaft mit Rhododendron- und Fuchsienhecken, kleine vertr\u00e4umte Fischerd\u00f6rfer, versteckte Buchten und eine einzigartige Berglandschaft begeistern die Besucher. Am Nachmittag M\u00f6glichkeit zum Besuch des ehemaligen Herrensitzes Muckross House. Die spektakul\u00e4re Kulisse von Slea Head und Dunquin wurde in vielen Filmen festgehalten. Hauptort ist die h\u00fcbsche Fischerstadt Dingle an der gleichnamigen Bucht. Zu den Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten der Halbinsel geh\u00f6rt neben den Ogham Steinen mit der ersten Schrift der Kelten auch das Gallarus Oratory, der wahrscheinlich besterhaltendste fr\u00fchchristliche Sakralbau in Irland. \u00dcbernachtung wie am Vortag.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><b>Tag 6: 200 Meter \u00fcber dem Meer<\/b><\/span><br \/>\nVorbei an Irlands \u00e4ltester Stadt Limerick gelangen Sie zu den <a title=\"Cliffs of Moher\" href=\"http:\/\/irland-reise-tipps.de\/de\/highlights\/cliffs-of-moher\/\">Cliffs of Moher<\/a>. Die Klippen ragen auf einer Strecke von 12 km bis zu 200 m aus dem Atlantik und sind Brutst\u00e4tte f\u00fcr viele Seev\u00f6gel. Bei guter Sicht k\u00f6nnen Sie den Ausblick \u00fcber die Galway Bucht und die hier gelegenen Aran Inseln genie\u00dfen. Nicht weit entfernt liegt Irlands einziger Kurort \u2013 Lisdoonvarna. Dieses St\u00e4dtchen ist auch bekannt f\u00fcr das Matchmaker Festival (Hochzeitsmarkt), das allj\u00e4hrlich im September stattfindet.
